Recording Streaming Video from the Web
I'm looking for a customization that records streaming video from the web. I'm purchasing a live stream of a convention and would like to record my purchase.
There are other ways to record it, but I'd much rather go through SageTV if possible. Thoughts, Kurt |

The chintzy way to do it would be to connect a cable from your computer's TV-Out jack to the input jack on your capture card. Then set up Sage to record from that source while you watch the stream full-screen in your browser. No software customization needed (so long as you don't mind the extra decode/re-encode cycle).
I haven't actually tried this, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

Hmmm
I suppose that may be possible, but WAY less than ideal because it would also nuke the ability to watch regular tv.

It would tie up a tuner, yes, which I guess if you have only one tuner would be kind of a deal-breaker.
To add another layer of kluge, you could feed your TV-Out into a VCR or something, and then play it back into your capture card in the dead of night when you're not watching or recording anything else.

Yow
Not making things any easier. Perhaps someone knows of a customization.

Figured that might be the case
But thought I should ask anyhow. Thanks to those of you who responded.
