Stream video to Android phone via sage web server?
Anyone have luck streaming video from your sage server to a android based phone (i.e. the droid) when clicking on a streaming link in the web server interface? I tried installing Meridian media player which should play mp4 files, but no joy.

+1 for that idea. Better yet if a mini client was written it would be tops. So far I've streamed to android via UPNP but that means running another service that points to the sage media files. Heavy transcoding for video is needed of course.

if anyone find something other than Orb.com that will work, please let us know. I have looked all over the Linux stuff and can't seem to find or figure something out. They claim linux can do it but i don't see anything out there. This will come in handy for anyone with 3G/Wifi access on their smartphone.

You mean for streaming content in other ways? The easiest one I now is XBMC if you can live with UPNP streaming. Just set it up against the same media directories in Sage and you can do simple browsing of the files and play them. http://xbmc.org/download/

Another method I found this morning that is primarily intened as a remote control but will stream as a beta option is Gmote http://www.gmote.org/ . This is only for Android based phones. Has windows, linux, and mac servers.
I'd be thrilled if the same thing could be as a sagetv plugin especially if it would transcode video suitable for the phone. |

I'd prefer a full Placeshifter client for mobile devices - my phone is a Blackberry Bold 9700.
