HD PVR USB not recognized ...

I have been getting alot of errors with the HD PVR and USB. If I so much as "touch" the HD PVR, I get an error that says "USB not recognized". This is usually rectified by fiddling with the USB cable, and turning the unit on an off and removing-inserting the USB cable into the HD PVR.

Has anyone else had this problem? A search for "USB not recognzied" here hasn't turned up much

Can anyone let me know what may be causing this if you know? Brand new Gigabyte 785 chipset MB with 2 gigs of DDR3 ram.

Did you try replacing the USB cable with a known good one? Also verify there is nothing physically wrong with the ports you are plugging into.

I agree with Gerry's thoughts. This clearly isn't normal. It is either a bad cable or a bad connector. If replacing the cable doesn't work, then I would contact Hauppauge to get a replacement.
