HELP!! All Video capturing in Black & White w/ No Audio

I have set up everything to my knowledge correctly but apparently something is seriously wrong still and have two day and over 8 hours, I figured it was time to create my own thread since I can not find the answers in the forum.

Problem: When doing Video Playback or LiveTv the video playback is in black and white. There is also no audio. If I record whatever it is that I am watching, it also is recorded in black and white with no audio. I was hoping that it was just a preview setting but that is not the case. I can flip thru all the channels, set up recordings and all that jazz. I simply can not get the video to capture in color with audio. I think the problem is my cable setup. So below is all the information. Let me know if I need to add any more information to help you help me! HUGE THANKS IN ADVANCE cuz I want to throw this thing out the window already. By the way...I tried multiple configurations with the cables and the current setup seems to be the only one that gives me video at all.

My Setup:
Windows 7
SageTv v6.6.2.218 (newest update)
HD PVR v1.0.5.6 (newest drivers)
ArcSoft TotalMedia Extreme
Java v1.6.0_15

I think the problem has something to do with how I have my cables set up because I think I have changed every option SageTv has in the User Interface. I have taken a few pictures of the cable set up for anyone to look at:

Back of the HD-PVR:

Back of Cable Box without Cables:

Back of the Cable Box with HD-PVR cables plugged in:

Once again, let me know if there is anything else I need to provide or if the problem itself is not my cable setup and more of a software issue. Thanks!

You're cables looked completely messed up. Pull 'em all, match the white cables to the video signals color to color and then put the audio to the red and white under out 1. Don't be afraid of the instruction manual, he's your friend.

In short: your connections are all wrong -- pay closer attention to left & right (white & red) audio vs RGB component. The cables are color coded.

Ok Resetting wires

Believe me, I combed over the instruction manual no less than ten times. I shows you how to set up the cables for the HD-PVR but has nothing pertaining to the cablebox. Doesn't even mention it. If figured I was really screwing this up! I really appreciate the help though. I will make the changes and test it and post back here in a few.

Second Try

Ok this is how I first set up the cables when I first pulled everything out. When the cables are set up like this, I get a No Signal when I run the Configure Video Playback. The blue light on the HD-PVR also does not light up. Here are the pictures.

I think these comments are aimed at the HD PVR connections. Those connections look like they are completely reversed to me. I don't have a HD PVR but it does not look like the colors match. Did you make any changes to those connections?

Exclamation

Ok changes have been made to the HD PVR and moved the cables on the cable box back to the original arrangement I had at the beginning, matching up all the colors. Unfortunately there is no difference...Still receive a "No Signal" message. So now that I have fixed the cables on the HD PVR...there still has to be something wrong with the cable box setup. Here are the photos:

HD PVR Setup

Once again, a pic without cables for the cable box

Cables in cable box (following the color scheme)

So any ideas what my next move should be?

It is hard to tell from the picture but are you sure the blue and green cables are not reversed on the cable box?

No the blue cable is in the middle and the green cable is on the bottom. I just double checked it. I still get No Signal when Configuring playback.

Since your cables now appear to be correct, have you tried removing and re-adding the source? I suspect that you may have have a new type of input available that Sage did not see when you first added the source.

Is it Sage that is giving the "no signal" message? If so, how is the data getting from the HD PVR to Sage?

After clearing the video source and adding it again I receive this error message when trying to add a new source:

Capture Error In Playback. Details ERROR (-4x8007001f). There was a problem using the capture device. Please be sure you have the latest drivers installed for your capture device, and that they are installed correctly.

I have the latest drivers installed for the PVR. So not sure.

Actually when I have the cable box video cables plugged into the first row is when I get the "No Signal"

However when I switch the video cables to run across the bottom, then I can receive video just fine. Its just in black and white with no audio. Here is what that setup looked like.

The only reason that appears to work at all is because one out of five cables is almost right. The other four are completely random. Put all five back in the proper color-coded configuration under Out 1; that's the only configuration that has a hope of working correctly.

My guess is that your cable box doesn't realize you've plugged something into Out 1 and is defaulting to Out 2. So once you have everything plugged in correctly, try rebooting or power-cycling the cable box to see if it now detects that Out 1 is in use.

If that doesn't work, you may need to plug a TV into Out 2 and access the cable box's setup menu to enable Out 1 (or Component output).

Ok I currently moved them back to this configuration where the cables are back in the color-coded configuration.

I am going to reboot the cable box and see what I get. Thanks for your help also Gkusnick!

Unfortunately, the rebooting of the cable box did little of nothing. Still receiving no signal when adding a new source. Even more unfortunate, I do not have another TV I can plug into Out2. Not sure what my next move is, so Im going to look up my cable box online and see if I can find some information about how to access Out 1.

Are you SURE the green cable on the back of the hd box is on the bottom and not in the middle (blue) position?? Green is your sync signal, without NO PICTURE. The HD PVR looks good but check the HD box again. I install custome home systems and see the blue and green mixed up all the time.
