S-Video - Black & White on PVR-500

I'm using the PVR-500. I live in the UK. Getting the output from a Sky digibox set top box via a SCART output which can convert to both composite & s-video.

If I link it up to the PVR-500 via the composite input on tuner 1 it's fine. If I link it up via the s-video input, still on tuner 1, I get a blocky black and white picture.

It sounds very like what is reported in this thread:
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...156#post103156

It's not a show-stopper, but obviously I'd rather capture s-video than composite. Anyone get any further than the idea in that thread of firing up another app first? I don't have another PVR app.

I've reported this to support, just thought I'd see if anyone had a solution on here. I've searched the forum and whilst there are a few similarish sounding issues, none are an exact match and none offer a solution.

Thanks,
Rob

Did you ask this question on the SHS forum.
I would have expected that someone there would have had this problem.

We don't have PVR500's in Australia.
Did you buy the PVR500 in the UK or is it a US model

Bought it in the UK - I replied to this thread after searching for it, didn't realise it was in the Australian forum! I've asked the question again in the main Software forum.

I'll search on SHS - thanks!

Just had a suggestion that it could be that my set top box outputs composite through the SCART sockets - so unsurprisingly I can't get S-Video from them.

Thread here has some suggestions:
http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...d.php?t=215701

Going to see if my digibox can be told to output S-Video. I wonder what happens if I tell it to output RGB?

Edit - Thanks for sorting out the mess, Opus4 - apologies.
