Black & White Display
Hi
Can anybody help me with the following problem? I'm having trouble getting a color display using Sage TV connected to the S-Video connection on my WinTV PVR 350. The card is connected to my Telewest Cable TV set top box with RGB out. Many thanks

Hi Bodgadle
I can get a colour display using WinTV2000, but I'm not sure why I have to de-select the S-Video option when setting up the (S-Video) channel(s). If I don't de-select S-Video, I get a black and white display! The quality of the display using WinTV is ok, but I reckon that it should be better (despite being software decoded) since i'm using cable TV with RGB out via a scart to S-video adaptor. What kind of set up are you using? What is the display quality like for you using WinTV? Apart from your green and purple people problem with your Sage TV display, does the image appear with greater clarity?

Hi Marko,
I'm using the rgb scart out on my sky digital box into the svid and line-in connectors on the 350, then using the scart cable that came with the 350 as output to the rgb/av1 port on my telly. WinTV for me also gives weirdness when i pick svideo, no idea why, kinda makes it a fuzzy weird coloured thing, not black & white, just weird. so when I disable svideo i get pretty much perfect picture quality. However sageTV is very tempramental for me, i've tried all the different input options on sageTV but i dont get a picture anywhere near as good as WinTV. However the picture problem i get with sageTV is exacly the same as winTV with the svideo option enabled. Just gotta hope Jeff manages to find something in 6 days before my trial expires

Check out this thread. I had only black and white picture when I first installed my PVR-350 card, and this did it for me.
