no audio for .mov videos from digital still camera

hello,

I tried to play the videos recorded with my digital (still) camera on the HD200. The video looks nice, but there's no sound.
There's only a short "itchy" sound every two seconds or so.
If I remember right, the audio format of these files is 8bit, mono, 22KHz.

I'm new to the HD200, I use the latest official firmware release.
Any help is appreciated!

It would help to know what camera you have. I had a similar problem with my Kodak Z-1085. I notified Sage Support and they fixed it via a firmware update (I have HD100 extenders).

George from Sage support could help me with a workaround.

Unfortunately that audio format is not supported on the HD200.

Try this. If you close SageTV and the service and go to your clients folder
in on your server you can open up you XXXXXX.properties file for the HD200.
XXXX is the mac address of your HD200.

miniclient/disabled_audio_codecs=PCM_S16LE

The videos from my camera then get transcoded in realtime.

What brand / model of camera do you have? I ask because if / when I buy an HD200 I don't want to have problems with the audio. My sage server probably doesn't have the HP to transcode anything in real time.

It's a Nikon Coolpix 5900. About 5 years old or so.

Thanks. Hopefully my Kodak won't have the same problem. It works fine on the HD100, although there was one firmware update that broke it for awhile.
