OK, so this speculation seems to be getting us nowhere. So time for a little rumor breaking, I have it under great authority that the next version will be a hardware / software combination. Where the new interface will combine both thought processing control with a low-jack interface. You heard that correctly, yes SageTV is bringing a new industry standard to the HOME DVR market. So you might ask, “Why would I want to be low jacked into my home DVR,” and our response to that is, “Why would you not?” I am sure there are many naysayers out there that think this will never work, but it’s really a simple process.

After installing the latest version of SageTV 7.0.86 and verifying that it works correctly, you will need to have a small interface attached in the back base of your skull that sends and receives electrical signals. Don’t worry, it does have a dust cover that utilizes our chameleon flesh coloring technology (patent pending) and may be hidden by hair. This can be done with a simple outpatient surgery. **Please no home installations**

Next you will attach our patented transceiver that conjoins you with your home DVR. Image

Then Viola! You are now interconnected with your version of SageTV and can enjoy some of its great new features, such as:
  • Complete control of SageTV software. Think about it never needing a remote again!
  • Real time error reporting and notification.
  • At work and think you missed a recording? Now now?!?! You will know instantly and can start that recording in the blink err twitch of an eye!
  • Are the kiddies watching something they shouldn’t, well not anymore with our new patented content filter you are now the true master of your own Audio-Visual domain. Stop… Start… Restrict recording and playback from anywhere in the world!
  • We could go on and on but why bother?

So with this entire new product how much do you think this would cost? $100,000? $10,000? No! Just 10 easy payment of $79.95

We have finished field testing and are approved by the FDA and the NRA and we are almost ready to ship. Don’t get left out quantities are limited.

**Offer not available in any Country, State, City, Community, Municipality, or area where that the name contains a vowel or a consent in its name. This advertisement does not endorse the use of our product on or by any human-like entities, animal or organism living or not. Product may cause severe scaring, physical disfigurement, mental illness, or possibly even death. This device may contain mind controlling protocols. SageTV reserves the right to implement these technologies as they see fit from time to time and at any time. Use at your own risk!!**

Can I remap the eye twitching to something else, my left eye pretty much twitches uncontrollably. Also, can I map my fart to "Don't Like"?

You will have to add that functionality to the Sage GUI using Studio 2.0. This will not be a feature included in the standard Sage 7.0 Offering.

This is complete nonsense. Yes Sage 7 will include hardware, but not some absurd low-jack system. Sage 7 will be a team of robots that act out the television shows you want to watch. Everyone knows the future of television is robots. Acting robots.

This is starting to sound somewhat like Be Kind Rewind, except with robots!

Sure *that* secret project sounds cool but just wait till they become sentient and start killing everyone in the room when you try to turn them off.. Don't believe me, it's called, "The Terminator" ever heard of this wonderful piece of prognosticationary artistry? (Thats why they created the low jack system?!?! AS A FAIL SAFE FOR THE ROBOTS) I was going to keep them a secret because of industry spies but now since the cats out the bag, I too can confirm that robots *will* be in the mix.

Thanks a lot for pointing this out !! Now my morning & afternoon ritual includes checking if the beta has incremented. This is in addition to first checking my email for the notice that the beta thread has been bumped, then checking if a new post is started outside that beta thread specific to v7, then rechecking my internet connections throughout the house, rechecking once more, and then google searching "Sagetv v7" for any leaked news. I think I'm experiencing neurotic anticipation.

Edit: I think SageTV should announce the release date on the beta notification thread (even a day or two prior to release). It would be fun to see how this stat would change..... "Most users ever online was 1,734, 08-24-2009 at 08:15 PM."

...still cheaper than me switching over to Comcast from OTA, so count me in!

You think low jack is safe? What happens when it gets hacked into and the computers start controlling YOU? That's much worse than a bunch of sentient robots slaughtering a few people not smart enough to have their portable EMP on hand.

So still nothing...

I started this thread 6.5 months ago - never dreaming that over six months later there would be no new betas. Certainly we must now be at the all time record for time between beta releases.

They said that the last round of betas was going to be it for a while. They were basically a round of stability and bug fixes. No major new features added.

I'm not saying I particularly care, but you're right. We passed the previous record a long time ago. It's been 256 days since the last server software update. The previous record was between Sage v2.0 and the Sage v2.1 beta, which was 155 days.

I'm more than a little afraid of the level of geekiness demonstrated by this post. I thought I was off the end of the scale..

Resepect! :-)

Attention Class!

Attention:

Based on the following

Quote:

If reggie14 counts days, while fuzzy counts years and Taddeusz leaves the station at 4:35PM, what will be the actual version number of SageTV when released?

For extra credit, who has actually had any time to watch television?

OH and for extra extra credit, does clicking refresh more than 10 times a minute make it happen faster?
