At last, a quiet pc

Bet pushing the power switch for the first time took some guts. |

Well I was worried the first time I turned mine on and all my fans stopped.

I would hate to have to change components in that box!
It reminds me of some forum's disussion a while back about sealing a case & filling it with water for "water cooling". - Andy

Per the photos of the PC, it is possible (if this isn't a joke in German) that they are using a clear petroleum based liquid which is non-conductive. Edit: apparently that is what is is "oelbilder"

This is true. I saw a piece on the discovery channel and they put a running laptop in a tank of liquid. Several non-conductive liquids are out there now, some of them pretty expensive. Transformers are commonly filled with oil.

Yeah -- I thought it was clear they were using some sort of non-conducting liquid in this case. (Uh... no pun intended!)
The pictures reminded me of that old hoax thread, though. - Andy |

Is that a temperature gauge on the fish tank? If so, I think I'm reading about 84 degrees F (assuming it's in Celcius). But then again, the tank isn't quite full enough to cover the gauge.

Wow, that is the best mod ever! Wonder if one can find a species of fish that could live in that liquid lol. That'd be pretty cool.

Can you imagine filling out the insurance claim form the morning after your house burns down?
"It is possible that the fire began in my living room where I keep a mains connected fishtank full of cooking oil..." Would love to make one of these, but would definitely be worried about leaving it alone in the house for a weekend. Nick.
