Since things are so quiet and it seems to be taking awhile it must be time for us to conjecture. I am guessing that they are working with Silicon Dust on the network cablecard tuner for native support in Sage. And so long as I am dreaming I will throw in the ability to view any and all content on the current crop of extenders!

But just in case, I will hang on to my HD-PVR...

It is very quiet in the beta department but I noticed something very interesting when I submitted a bug report for the latest HD200 beta firmware. The drop down box for the SageTV version now lists several 7.0 version numbers. Of course this doesn't tell when they're going to have a completely public beta but this does say that they probably have private testing going on.

Nice catch. Must say, have kinda mixed feelings. Yes, 7.0 seems even more certain. But having missed the experience of four 7.0.x private releases does not feel right... Hey! SageTV! I wanna mess up my perfectly stable 6.6 server. Get this stuff out in the open

Where did you hear/see 7.x private betas? I too love to live dangerously through beta software...

Sage, sign me up please! I don't care if it nukes my system, its due for a hardware upgrade and rebuild anyways. The GF is on vacation too, never a better time...

no one saw any betas yet, it's jsut that the bug reporting system has options to report bugs on some 7.x beta versions, so they at least exist, and are probably in private testing.

Or they just recently added them in anticipation of some private alpha/beta testing.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, but if not, they seem to have taken down the options for the 7.x betas. Still doesn't mean it's not coming soon, but I would have been happier if they had just left it up.

Shall we start a pool on the version release number? Let's see... they're at 7.0.4... I'll take 7.0.11.

I'm looking forward to beta. I have SageTV running here in a VM so it's been easy to spin up an identical environment to test things out without interfering with the existing setup.

If I had more free time I would have volunteered for testing a while ago.

Are you able to actually map any kind of a recording device to your VM?

As for the closed beta, I'd love it if Sage would release even just a simple screenshot of the interface. *hint, hint*

I couldn't agree more. I'm not likely to run beta software for quite a while anyway.

Yes, of course! My server has 5520's in it and PCIe tuner cards work flawlessly in a VM using passthrough. However I've gotten rid of my PCIe tuners in favor of HDHomeRun's because it gives me more flexibility, particularly since the server has 4 embedded NICs.

I'm using ESXi, I don't recall Hyper-V having passthrough support just yet.
