G Data Anti-Virus Interferes with SageTV?
After testing a variety of incidents, it appears that G Data Internet Security is interfering with SageTV.
At first (after installing G Data), SageTV played back programs at a high speed ... the video looked normal, but the time displayed jumped by increments of 3 to 20 secs. I had no idea that G Data might be causing the problem. I added some exceptions to G Data so it would leave SageTV alone ... which helped programs that were being viewed while being recorded. But when SageTV started recording a different program, what was being watched exhibited strange behavior, and sometimes jumped back to the beginning of the program. One other problem is that the skip ahead, and fast forward, jump in large increments and sometimes start over. It is impossible to view some sections. I have looked at the programs saved with Media Player ... they look fine. I have sent one program to SageTV support. It looks fine to them too. It is quite likely that SageTV is running threads in the background, and G Data is interfering with them. Any ideas on how to catch them? The equipment I have includes: 1 each Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 (a card that plugs into my PC) 1 each SageTV Media Extender #STVCMVP (a device next to my TV that is connected to my PC via an Ethernet connection and is controlled by a remote) 1 each SageTV 6 / Hauppauge Tuner #PVR-150MCE / NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder Bundle Any suggestions? |

Have you excluded your Recording folder from the antivirus and or .mpg or any video file extension?

Yes, the recording folder and .mpg files were excluded. The problem still exists.
