Post AVG Anit-Virus detects a trojan

FYI:

The latest database update for AVG tags the SageTV setup file (SageTV_V6_1_9Setup.exe and all other previous executables) as a Trojan Horse Generic5.I00.

Anyone using the free version of AVG?

Program Version: 7.5.476

Virus Database: 269.10.4/897

I'm using the paid version. Same program version and db version as you. It did NOTdetect Sage setup 6.1.95 or 6.2.4 as a trojan.

SagetTVPlaceshifter_V6_1_9Setup.exe

AVG let me down

Ouch is right! Would one of you with the paid version care to report their error to AVG? Something erroneous must have been included in their most recent update. Even though the software asked me whether I wanted to ignore the error, my files got quarantined just the same. I had to uninstall AVG to allow me to install the latest version of SageTV.

I got the same alert from AVG, chose to "heal" and the setup file disappeared. What's up? Running paid latest version of AVG. screenshot attached. Wow, I thought I was the only one - kinda got me worried.

It appears that the latest update to AVG has fixed the false Trojan detection.

That's one of the reasons I don't use AVG anymore, I've had too many times where it falsely detected something. I use Symantec corporate on all my PCs now, and recommend Avast Free edition to friends.
