HD-PVR Audio Drift - Quality Settings
I have slight audio drift using the 1.5.6 drivers. The audio is off noticeably after 2 or so hours. I read somewhere that the encoder settings might affect this.
I'm wondering, for those having no audio drift/sync issues, what settings do you have? They can be found using the ArcSoft capture module, clicking on "Format Settings". Mine are presently at: 7.6 Mbps constant bitrate AC3 decoder That's a bit lower bitrate than before, so I will have to see if that seems to affect the audio drift issue. - Jeff |

I don't get audio drift with the 1.5.6 Haup drivers. TME reports my settings as 12.0 Mbps constant bitrate w AC3 decoder.
My SageTV recording quality is set at Best H264. When I set TME to other values (ie 13.5 constant), SageTV seems to reset the bitrate when it accesses the HD PVR for recording/watching back to the 12.0 (Best H264). EDIT: I'm curious - are you running at 720p or 1080i? I run at 720p fixed output from my STB.

720p.
Are you using stereo RCA's (like me) or digital? |

Digital - It's always worked well from my DirecTV receiver.

Ran the file thru tsMuxer, which seems to help.

I had a noticeable drift after less than 15 minutes. Downgrading to 1.0.5.301 seems to have fixed the audio drift problems.
The drift was definitely in the file, since starting in the middle of the recording had the drift (i.e., it was dependent on the position in the file, not how long it had been played).

I tried installing the "native patch" (whatever that is), and it errors out when I try to run the batch file.
Seems like I remember installing the latest Hauppauge driver at some point, but I guess I uninstalled it because device manager says i'm on driver 1.0.5.301 now for both my HD-PVRs. Still having a bad audio drift problem with that driver. |
