SageTV Vista Gadget

Is there a Vista gadget available for SageTV? If not, how difficult would if be to create one?

It would be nice to be able to schedule recording, monitor recording, and veiw EPG from your desktop while at work.

See http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/down...do=file&id=256 for the current Vista gadget. It lets you view the current and future recording schedule. You can also start up the client program with it. The only issue I have with it is that shows the scheduled end time instead of the actual end time if padding is used.

Any way to actually view sagetv in the gadget, just like the windows media center on windows 7 without having to pop out a web browser?

No. It just lists what is currently recording and pops out a list of upcoming recordings. For it to actually view Sage it would need to be a licensed client-type and wouldn't be free I don't think.

Can't you kind of stream Sage content from the sage web client to VLC? Would this be any different?

You could-but I don't think you're going to get it to appear in a screen in the gadget like the OP was asking. Not easily anyways.

If you are talking about viewing video in the gadget, besides being very difficult I don't really see the point. Just get it playing in VLC or SageTV Client and shrink the window down really small and place it near the sidebar.
