Cannot change service user name
Hi,
I want to make use of networked drives, so I am trying to change from LocalSystem to another account. I have set the account up, with password, and have logged onto it. However, when I log back in with my original account and try to change LocalSystem to the new account, it always comes up with invalid username or password. I have tried with the service stopped, I have tried using the log in name ./server/log_in_name and none of them work. Any ideas pleases? Thanks, Simon. |

Use the "Browse" button and make sure to use the "Check Name" button when choosing which ID to use. The password is also case sensitive.

My bad, I didnt realise I had to go into windows service and associate the new account with the sage service.
I have now done this and it is using it okay. Thank you. |

I'd never even noticed you can do it in the SageTVServiceControl program.
It does have a strange format in there doesn't it, I wouldn't have a clue what format you're supposed to use and I couldn't see anything in the manual. |

It's the same format Windows uses and should work as either workgroup\user or user@workgroup.

FWIW, I just use ".\user" format for setting my Sage service user (which it will be quite nice to not have to redo each install from now on ).
