Is there any way to change priority of SageTV service?
I just got a new machine. It's about 100 times as fast as my old PC, but the interface through the media extender is slower to respond.
I'm thinking if I could set the SageTV service to a higher priority I'd be fine, but I can't figure out how to do it. Perhaps it has something to do with the account it runs under and the account I'm logged on with (which has administer rights), but I don't know. What I really want is faster responding menus. I'm hard wired, and I've got a Core 2 Duo e6600 (Windows XP with all the latest updates), do I'm thinking I should get pretty snappy response... but I don't. Any way to fix this? Thanks, Steve |

What version of Java are you using? People have been posting that they had faster response while using Java v1.6 (or v6; same thing, just different numbers in some places).

Thanks Opus, I think that did the trick.
Also, thanks for all that you do here.

1.6 and/or 1.6 update 1 are the bees knees.

For me, upgrading to Java 1.6 made a HUGE difference. It transformed my MVP from an annoyingly sluggish novelty to a responsive and useful appliance.
