Issues loading Sage Service with a user account
For some reason I've lost the ability to add UNC paths, however those that were already added continue to work. I checked the service and it was set to login as local user. I attempted to change it to a user with password but it won't login saying there are dependency issues.
Tracing it further, it appears sage needs to use the service netlogon, and this service is throwing a problem. I'm a bit out of my element here, but it seems funny because I don't have it setup with a domain and thought I didn't need to. Am I doing something wrong or do I have some problem? EDIT: Well I rebooted and Sage service started happily and after futzing around got Sage to import some DVDs off a network drive using UNC paths. Interestingly, I used to be able to navigate to these directories, but now when I select browse and click on network it doesn't take me anywhere. Is this a bug in 6.1.3? I have similar situation happening... I can't seem to get my login to work with user accounts other than the local system on the service.
I can see all the files on UNC paths through SageTV client or webbrowser, but I can't access them for viewing. It seems to have started doing this around the time that I tried to use a login with the service. It didn't work so I went back to the local user and now i can't seem to fix it... Any suggestions? EDIT: I realize now that my import directories had been wiped out and I never re-entered them. I have since copied and pasted the UNC path into the import directory window and it works. I logged in with a user/pass as required. Last edited by Armondole; 04-28-2007 at 12:15 AM. |

To use an account for the service, the account must be given the "login as a service" user right.

... Which will be automatically configured if you use Windows' service manager (right-click my Computer-> manage) to set up the service user instead of Sage's ServiceControl...
