6.5.13 and HDHomeRun

My HDHR is labling all recordings as MPEG-PS and giving them .mpg extensions...and these recordings are really corrupted.

I thought HDHR was MPEG-TS only?

Code:
Complete name : S:\Videos\SageTV\30Rock-Cutbacks-9313966-0.mpg
Format : MPEG-PS
File size : 2.44 GiB
Duration : 28mn 55s
Overall bit rate : 12.1 Mbps

which HDHR software & firmware are you running? just so we get the whole picture.

not sure when this started for me (I'm still running 6.5.12), but I'm unable to run mencoder on recent HDHR recordings for compression as the video source reader (using MediaCoder). it's always flagging corrupted data in the frames too. ffmpeg doesn't choke though.

the HDHR via Sage outputs a program stream.

there is the mmc/encode_digital_tv_as_program_stream property, and you could try setting it to false, though I'm not sure it currently works for the HDHR .

They've been PS for a while, and Sage recommends NOT using TS. No corruptions with 6.5.13 and a recent HDHR (may not be the latest) sw/fw. Now, the stations cutting back power 'til June is another story!

I don't see any type of corruption until I try to do something outside of Sage, then some conversion utilities like mencoder and Handbrake have issues. I tried using transport streams instead last night and had the same problem.

whoops, I must be tired. I was thinking of the HDPVR...that's .ts. My -1 tuner on my HDHR was the cause of my corruption problems. The signal was good, but the quality kept dropping every once and a while, causing issues. I've removed the tuners from Sage, upgraded to the 4/11 HDHR software/firmware, configured the channels in the HDHR GUI, and then added the tuners back to Sage and did a scan.

It seems better, but this is just likely a problem with my cable provider that the HDHR can't compensate for.
