New re-install, no sound, no channel changing.
OK, here are my system specs.
ASUS M2N-SLI motherboard SPDIF optical output HD-PVR box I recently had a harddrive crash and lost my operating sytem so I just put in a brand new 500GB harddrive, reinstalled Windows Vista, drivers, and software. I installed the 1.053 version of the HD-PVR drivers first, and then SageTV 6.5.8. SageTV came back with "Error during playback" whenever I tried to configure my HD-PVR as a source for SageTV. So, I uninstalled my HD-PVR drivers and uninstalled SageTV 6.5.8. I then installed the 1.052 drivers and Arcsoft software that came with my HD-PVR. Then I installed SageTV 6.5.5. After that, I upgraded my HD-PVR driver to 1.053 and SageTV to 6.5.8. I then proceeded to do the SageTV setup. I was able to get SageTV to recognize the HD-PVR video source correctly and start getting a video feed. However, there was no sound and it would not change the channel either. I haven't tried recording anything yet. I closed out SageTV and loaded up the Arcsoft software. I was able to get both video and sound working just fine using the Arcsoft software. I then started BlastCfg.exe and was able to change the channel on my cablebox from there. I then rebooted the machine and loaded SageTV to see if the video/sound and channel changing would work, and no change. Still no sound to go with my video and no channel changing. It all worked perfectly before my harddrive crash, now I'm running into problems here. Anyone got any ideas that I can try and get this working again? I hate missing my shows. |

Well, thanks for moving my post to the hardware forum when there is absolutely not a thing wrong with my hardware. My problem has 100% to do with SageTV.
My hardware works fine when I use the software that came with my HD-PVR but SageTV does not. * The hardware forum is for issues using hardware with SageTV; please read the forum descriptions * |

I had to uninstall version 6.5.8 and install 6.5.6 (the version I had prior to the hard drive crash) and it worked. Seems to be a problem with SageTV 6.5.8 working correctly with the HD-PVR. |

Why haven't you installed 6.5.9 which is the latest non-beta release?
