New Install/NO Video,only sound

Hi all,
I'm trying to get sage to work for the first time. I installed it, and I can see the video during the setup in the upper right box, and can even change channels, but when it trys to test the playback, it is all black, no video, only sound. I did all the website says, newest video card driver (and all wdm video codecs), installed intervideo windvd for playback, changed the playback defaults, nothing is working. If I try to view live tv from the main menu, it only shows black screen also, sound works great.
Win2000,ATI all-in-one 7500 card (supported according to page),soundblaster live 5.1 sound card,
I just don't understand what is up? Why does it play the video (tv) fine in the setup small window top right, but won't play any other way?
I love the idea and the interface, but unless I get it to work I'm not going to buy it.
-Thanks for any help

I have that card sitting in a box. The newest drivers don't seem to support it well. I would highly recommend using older drivers and see if that fixes your problems. The card is so old, and ATI seems to have stopped supporting anything before the 9000 series. That is why mine sits in a box. That and it has a software encoder, which I wouldn't recommend. Just my .02 worth.

New INstall/No video,only sound

Hi,
The ATI 7500 does work fine with ati software for viewing tv, but the interface is buggy, and the recording is not dependable. I was hoping to get SageTV trial to work so I could see if it is worth buying. There has got to be a way to get the video to work, since it's working during setup?

I have the ATI AIW 7500 as well and am using it only for a video card in my server due to the same issue. I would definately recommend getting a hardware encoding card-they are reasonably inexpensive and will give you much better performance.

Thumbs up Solved! bought new card

HI all,
I found that the AIW 7500 card just will not work with SageTv. I bought the wintv-pvr-150 card, and it works fine with SageTv. So, you can close this post now.
