DTV box wont appear on Ch4

Hi everyone.

I have been trying to configure my DTV box to connect to sage, but when I try to tune a channel through the program guide (i.e. 231 Foodtv) the hauppauge tunner tunes to 231 instead of 4 as needed.

I have set it up properly as the source indicates channel 4 is associated.

here is a brief discription of my system

SageTV should be trying to tune your directv box. What are you using for channel changing on it? IR or serial.

Yes you would think it world try to change the DTV box instead of the tuner card but it does not. and im using serial.

Did you know that you can upload the file as an attachment to a post? Either zip it up or add .txt to the end of the filename. For now, I put the properties lines in [code] tags so the posts aren't so long & wide.

Yes I am using coax to the sage box. I have injected the signal form another room into the system on ch19. I can plug the coax into a tv I have here so I know it works. And to make things more puzzeling is that, This is my second install. The first one worked on ch19. And in case anyone is wondering if thats the problem. It was done as a complete format and install of windows and sage.
(I had to do it because I changed Hard drives) I didnt save the original hard drive install because I thought it was bad. The CPU pegged on the last part of playback from a file. So I hit "stop"on the remote and the computer restarted. Maybe it was bad but at least it worked.

Can anyone spot the problem in the properties file? I did a fresh install and I still have the same problem. The happuage card wont tune to the channel the sat is on weather it is 4 or 19. I'm stumped.

Sorry, been busy here.. I don't get your setup based on what you've described. It sounds like you're combining the sat RF feed into another RF feed and you want SageTV to tune RF and serial to ensure everything is on the right channel. Otherwise, when you set it up it should have tuned to 19 and been left there.

Can you provide more detail? If you have the ability a sketch would be great too.

Ok. for the purpose of discussion I'll describe the system in its most basic sense. The DTV signal comes into the RF input on the card. No other sources have been configured. Right now I dont need any other. The channel it comes in on is channel 4. Thats it. I have tested it so I know it works. When I attempt to watch a DTV program it fails to tune to 4 but instead it goes to the DTV channel i.e. 231.

Maybe I missed it but why are you using the RF input instead of svideo or composite?
You should get a better picture using svideo and stereo audio input into your capture card.

Are you sure you picked the "Use external cable or satellite receiver" option when you set up your recording source? Did you set the switch on the back of the DTV box to output the same channel you selected? There really isn't any other reason for it not to work. I have been using serial tuning for 3-4 years and though I don't use a coax from my DTV boxes (S-video) I have never had a problem..
Oh. by the way, the hauppauge card shouldn't be tuning at all. It should be locked at channel 3, or 4. Whichever you picked in the setup. The DTV box is what will tune. The output of the DTV box will be output on channel 3, or 4. Wherever you put the switch.
You probably already understand all of this but if not use it for what it's worth...

This my second time around for sage as I have had. v.2.2.7 before. The same system worked before all I was doing was upgrading to v.6 maybe sage dosent properly support my card anymore with the new version. I wouldn't have to do this If sage hadn't turned off my EPG Listings

What are you using from Directv that outputs on channel 19? Channel 3, or 4 is all I have ever seen output on a coax from a DTV box, cable box, VCR, etc.. Why are you using 19?
