Is there anyway to watch a website live stream?

My daughter is a freshman in college this year and is playing field hockey. They stream their games.

Is there anyway to watch a website live stream through SageTV?

We can (and do) watch on our computers, but it would be really nice to be able to watch on the big TV screen.

I have not tried this in V9, so maybe someone can report on whether or not it works (or just try it).

OpenDCT has a stream tuner option. I've never used it though.

Unfortunately OpenDCT won't work that way. It needs to be able to detect a tuner, which wouldn't apply to a website.

Quote from ENE "OpenDCT was not really designed to work with capture devices that it cannot detect.", from post #1460

This is one of those things we use an XBox One for. it's got an edge browser embedded.

We were never much for console games so PS3 was the highest we went. Unfortunately the PS3 browser is a piece of ****.

What I ended up doing was buying a $35 Chromecast module, plugged it into the HDMI3 port on the side of the TV, and voila.

Able to cast the web streaming game from the computer to the TV.

I forget about Chromecast... that's a slick little device

FWIW, we aren't much of games either, so we wait until the console is out about a year, and get a used one. And, yes, the ps3 was nothing but a glorified netflix box.
