Where's Fuzzy?

He has been an extremely prolific SageTV posters and extremely helpful to many of us for years. It looks like he stopped posting on Nov 24 with the exception of one post on Dec 27. I hope he is ok.

This also reminds me - did we ever hear from Nielm? Or what happened to him?

Another good question. And what about Malore? Is that a person? These folks all belong in the SageTV Hall of Fame.

Nielm's last post was July 2009
Malore's was almost exactly a decade ago - Jan 7, 2008.

And though not a SageTV contributor, for those who use Windows firewire STB channel changing, let's add Tim Moore to the "Where are they now?" Hall of Fame.

Absolutely. His web site went dark a few years ago but it was crucial for many of us for over a decade.

I really miss him, because a 64 bit version is sooooooo desired.

I moved to unRAID because there was no 64 bit Win version of SageTV and it didn't look like there was one on the horizon, plus firewire doesn't work on 64 bit Windows but it does on 64 bit Linux.

Now I can connect 10+ SageTV miniclients simultaneously and still use FireWire to change channels.

Firewire channel changing works on 64 bit Linux? Anything complicated?

No it was very simple in unRAID as long as you have the DVB version. It shows up as a tuner if I remember correctly- no playing around in the properties file.

I could be wrong, I think Nielm and Qian both worked for Frey and were part of the acquisition. Nielm at least is listed in the CONTRIBUTORS file with a @google.com email. Qian is there as well, but with @gmail.com.

I am still alive - just haven't done much in the sagetv department lately. Time limited to rarely even watching tv for the last few months. Server is still very happily humming along on unRAID, just haven't really made any changes in quite some time, and as a result, also haven't hit the bookmark for the forums near as often.

I'll probably be moving into a new place in the nest couple months, which may trigger sage interest again - but until then, it's in full appliance mode.
