Fuzzy picture with PVR-500

I built a Sage box in January, and I've tried everything I can think of to try to match the picture quality to that of my Mitsubishi 60" internal tuner. I'm using a Hauppauge PVR-500. I've tried tweaking settings, swapping cables, and compared it to a different tuner (the PowerColor T55E).

The T55 looked the same, a fuzzier picture than the internal Mitsubishi tuner. so that leads me to believe it has to be something else in the hardware chain and not the tuner. Could the fuzzy-ness be a result of compression?

My video card is a Gigabyte GV-NX66256DP GeForce 6600.
