Fuzzy Picture
I have a huapauge pvr 350 card and running sage 2.1. I am running a coaxil line to my tv and to my computer using a splitter. I have three stations that come in fuzzy, 67, 69 and 72. The stations come in fine on the tv but not on the computer.. The cables seem fine and connections are good.. Could there be any other possible things to cause this? Is there something I can do to fix this?
Thanks, Chris |

Make sure you are using a high quality splitter as low quality ones can cause signal degradation.
I forget but you could try radio shack or talk to your cable co. to see what they recomend for splitters. Generally a splitter has a higher signal strength on one side of the split than the other so that could be why the tv looks better on thoughs channels than they do on the card. You could try switching the cables on the tv and the card around and see what results you get from that. Beyond that you could try useing a different cable to the card as even if the cable looks ok it could have some other problems causing the fuzzy picture.

I have a similar problem with one channel in my lineup. The fuzziness is sort of a come and go situation. I have not been able to find a solution. My guess is that the channel may be broadcast on a slightly different frequency than the norm??? I really don't know, but wish I could find a solution too.

I am going to try a signal booster.. Can anyone recommend a place that has resonable prices and a model # to purchase?
I have a splitter that runs one line to my cable box and one to another splitter that connects to my hauppauge card and my cable modem. Thanks, Chris |

Radio Shack sells them. I guess their prices are reasonable, and its easy to return it if it doesn't fix your problem.
