What does this mean?

Splash: Profiler is initializing

It means the 'Carny' process is starting up that profiles upcoming shows to determine what to record (i.e. Favorites and Intelligent Recording).

It comes from SageTV.java:

      Sage.setSplashText(Sage.rez("Module_Init", new Object[] { Sage.rez("Profiler") }));
      god = Carny.prime();

Thanks. I was just wondering because it takes a while to finish when the docker is starting.

Sounds like you probably want limited_carny_init=true in your Sage.properties file. I believe that's actually the default value now.

I'm not sure what it does internally but I believe what it does is that it starts SageTV with the last known recording schedule and delays the full carny process until after SageTV has started up. I'm not sure when it runs carny but I believe it's within an hour or so of SageTV starting.

If it is false (default), Sage does all the intelligent recording scheduling before the splash screen goes away (which can take several minutes). Setting it to true allows Sage to start more quickly but it won't be able to start making intelligent recordings immediately. I really can't imagine why this would be a negative for too many people.

I believe the limit carny setting just delays the scheduling of intelligent recordings. I don't think regular favorites are delayed at all. Remember intelligent recordings are always being "scheduled" they just never make it to the visible schedule if you have them turned off. That's why the intelligent suggestions plugin works. It returns the intelligent recordings that WOULD be recorded if they were turned on.

That is correct. Standard favorite and manual based agents will still be created and scheduled on startup. Only intelligent based agents will be delayed.
