current status of Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD pci board

Wondering how this board works with v9 sagetv. I had a 2250 board fail & was looking for a replacement & noticed that quad is only multi-tuner card available now still in production.

It works as a 2 tuner card under windows for SageTV.

Nobody has bothered to do the work to get SageTV to use BDA to access the other 2 tuners, so they're vestigal at best.

As the other link explains, the card evidently is supported under Linux Kernel 4.9, but there aren't any major Linux distro's out there currently which use that Kernal. Looks like Ubuntu might support it once they do a 17.10 build release, but that hasn't happened yet.

I don't think anybody has tried the card in a Linux machine running an older distribution to see what the card will do. And obviously, as there's a lack of kernal 4.9 options currently, nobody knows how it'll work under SageTV under Linux in that circumstance either. Just because it "works for Linux" doesn't mean it'll work for SageTV without someone tweaking things first.

I think I'd much rather look to an HDHomeRun than the quadHD board. No driver issues to deal with.

I think you mean "2" HDHomeRuns. I really wish they would make a 3-tuner version for OTA...

Well, the OP was talking about replacing a failed 2250, which is just 2 tuners.
