Exclamation SageDCT refuses to Start

Hi,

Just moved to a new house and when I setup the SageTV server, SageDCT refuses to start. I keep getting a message that SageDCT has stopped working.

I guess it is time to convert to OpenDCT.

Is there a cliff notes version of what I need to do?

Thanks,
John

I'd start with the first post in the OpenDCT thread.

I agree. That discussion contains pretty much everything you need to know. Also, as referenced in the OpenDCT first page, the discussion by Daweeze is excellent. I had no problems with a clean Win10, SageTV v9, OpenDCT and the LAV filters. I use HDHR Prime and it just worked.

That looks like doing a new install. How about converting from SageDCT?

Stop and disable the SageDCT service. Install OpenDCT per the instructions. Uninstall SageDCT once you're comfortably up and running with OpenDCT.

You may have to manually remove the SageDCT tuners in Sage ... I can't remember exactly how that went. I think I left one of the SageDCT tuners in Sage, so that when I set up the new OpenDCT tuners, I could copy the lineup.

Note: once OpenDCT is up and running, remove that last SageDCT tuner in the SageUI.
