why doesn't BMT like the new Doctor Who series?

to make BMT happy in sage v7 I had to rename all my episodes as \\towerb\tv\Doctor Who (2005)\Doctor Who (2005)-S01E01-Rose
well, technically the -Rose is just the episode name for me, BMT doesn't seem to care much about that...
anyway, that worked in v7

but now v9/docker (not sure docker matters here) does not seem to recognize them as TV shows...
my preference here would be to rename the files in a way that makes BMT happy without the need to tune the search, as it just makes life easier in the future...

so what are some suggestions on how to name these to make BMT happy?

I have a matcher in my MediaTitles.xml file that did it for me.

Code:
  <match>
    <regex>[\\/]Doctor Who \(2005\)[\\/]</regex>
    <metadata type="TV" name="tvdb">78804</metadata>
  </match>
Haven't had an issue yet, except for Specials. Unfortunately, those need to be edited manually.

Funny, I have just been cleaning up all of my DW library (well, my whole library actually) yesterday and today.

That may be what I did to make them happy in my existing v7 sage setup....
I was hoping this time around to just find the perfect/golden/whatever naming convention to not need to do that so next time I build a new server I dont have to go through all this again...
not sure that is possible though...

It is not possible and exactly why the MediaTitles.xml is part of the solution. When BMT is looking up the title it will get multiple returns for this entry so it needs something to tell it to use the specific one you want.

I have MANY of these types of entries in my MediaTitles.xml but the great thing is you do this once only.

PS: in BMT itself you can save the matcher entry by Selecting the Add Matcher button when displaying a media item.

Yup. I did this ages ago (years) and haven't though about it since.

where is the MediaTitles.xml located? I think I made a very bad matcher using the UI and some inappropriate clicking and need to edit it out...

Close enough that I'm sure he'll find it, but it's actually userdata\Phoenix\scrapers\.

BTW, for those of us with quite a large MediaTitles file, I found alphabetizing it makes a huge difference when making tweaks. That also helps to ensure you haven't accidentally duplicated entries. For this reason, I always edit the file directly.
