TiVo IR Codes?

I am trying to connect a TiVo to my Sage system via a HD-PVR. When I captured the IR codes for the TiVo, they cause SageTV to crash when I assign them to the tuner card. Because of this, I assume that I did something wrong.

Does anyone have a .ir file that will allow SageTV to control a TiVo?

Are you using the ir blaster that came with the HD-PVR?

No, I am using the USB UIRT. When I have it learn the IR codes, they are about 2x longer than the other codes that Sage provides. I assume that is what is causing Sage to crash.

The TiVo can be controlled via telnet, so I may use the Direct TV plugin and replace the tuning app with one that will connect to the TiVo.

I seem to recall a stand-alone application that can view the code as it's being recorded. Once you have the text, I believe that it can be copied directly into the SageTV file. We'll have to research the forums a bit ...

I did find one post where the user gave up on trying to record the code and started using a different remote, so let's hope we can find away around that.

Fuzzy here in the forum reminded me of this:

http://www.lmgestion.net/@en-us/arti...4/22/60/68/113

The click on the download link for the "USB-UIRT Learn Helper Utility," not the download button for remote keymap.

Then dig around in the forums for tips on how to modify one of the Sage ir files.

For Windows 7, the ir files are in:

c:\Program Files (x86)\SageTV\Common\RemoteCodes\USB-UIRT Transceiver

I've attached an example IR file and if you look through it (zipped), you should find the 1, 2, 3, remote keys, etc.. and then the resptive STB code right behind it for each. I also have mapped in the "ok" as well with which I lead all my channel changes to bring the unit out of sleep.

Fuzzy explains some of the codes at the top of the file in this post:

That is what I used to learn the TiVo commands. It turns out that SageTV isn't crashing on the load of the file, but when I try to change the begin and end keys.

On the plus side, I was able to get a standard STB from the cable company and get it connected into my system. I will be modifying this plugin and create my own dtvTune.exe application that will talk via telnet rather than HTTP.

For anyone who may want to tune a TiVo and use it as a source for SageTV, here is the source for tivoTune and the modified DirecTVMultiChg.bat file. I added .txt to the end of the files so that they could be uploaded.

EDIT: I was having problems getting the plugin to work and then I found this post. http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...4&postcount=45

EDIT: Cleaned up the code a bit.
