I am also having this problem.
I assume if it doesn't register, then I'm not using the latest SageDCT?

I was able to contact Andy about this problem.

His response:
"The mux filter isn't used. I started work on it, but never finished because I went down a different path."

I also questioned him about the version number still showing 2.7.0.2.

His response:
"The underlying code didn't change when I updated ffmpeg recently, so I didn't increment the build numbers.
I hope to revisit the ffmpegmuxerfilter because it would be useful to have a flexible DirectShow muxer, but I'm not sure when I will have time."

I ran into similar problems trying to upgrade from 2.6.0 to 2.7.3. I ignored "FFMpegMuxFilter.dll failed to register...", but there were additional error msgs and the install failed. (Yes, I had both the SageTv and SageDCT services stopped). What finally worked for me was to uninstall the old 2.6.0 and then install 2.7.3. I still got the "FFMpegMuxFilter.dll failed to register.." msg, but the installation was successful. The previous tuner assignments were preserved, so it wasn't necessary to re-generate them. After starting the SageDCT and SageTv services, I'm back in business. The real test is still to come... are new Comcast recordings still plagued with the spinning circle of death?

I think the FFMpegMuxFilter fails to register because it is a x64 DLL even though I am using SageDCT 32-bit. So the ffmpeg mode no longer works only the dump mode. I turned on async writing and saw no more glitches in a quick test. To use ffmpeg with SageDCT 2.7.3, do we need to use the x64 version? I am running W7x64. Thanks.

SageDCT failed

Hello Experts ... Hoping someone has ideas on what's wrong

2 days ago SageDCT failed. I have reinstalled SageDCT (not the latest version as it fails to install the FFMpegMuxFilter) but SageDCT does not see any of the tuners. HDHR is running fine, i checked so i don't know what is the issue. I ran the Verbose loging and the logs are as follows. Any help is appreciated

I'm having the same problem as nkd. SageDCT has been running well for a couple of years, but stopped working yesterday. I tried to run the SageDCT configuration tool and its not finding any tuners when I click the "Scan" button within the "Discovery" tab. I updated my HDHomeRun Prime firmware a couple of days ago - wondering if that's the issue.

I had the same thing happen as a result of the 20150604 Firmware for HDHR Prime. I was fortunate that I found PrimeNetEncoder because I couldn't find a way to downgrade the firmware.

Just to note that cable labs does not allow firmware downgrades on cable card-based tuners.

Chances are there will more firmware upgrades as they are working on the HdHomerun DVR ... Nothing against SageDCT but if you are using a prime you should really switch to the Prime Encoder.

I switched to the Prime Encoder earlier today. Many thanks to all who have worked on this great alternative!

Where can one get the latest 2.7 SageDCT? My cable company updated everything and I had to get a second CC. In the process I installed the newest HDHomeRun software and it forced a firmeware update first thing and now SageDCT won't find my tuners?!

Nevermind.... Reading the threads helped me realize that yes it is the damn firmware update. NO warning, NO choice on the update just F.U. take it like a man and now your crap doesn't work :/
