Digiguide

I've been playing with Digiguide as a source for XML EPG data. Can anyone provide me with the latest DG2XML.dgscheme-web files as these don't appear to be available and the only ones I can find so far are out of date and don't work correctly. I'm particularly interested in making sure the series and episode information is extracted.

I have been using XMLTV GUI to process

Thanks

You don't need that anymore.

Simply set the Digiguide to export its data via its web service/skin and XMLTV GUI will do the rest:

Tools > Customise... > Web Service:
 1. Enable Web Service tick box
 2. Port Number = 2402
 3. Remote Access Password = <same as the one you setup in XMLTV GUI>
 4. Web Skin = web

Also I wrote a LUA script while ago for XMLTV GUI to fix some XML markup errors that sometimes DigiGuide exports. Please have a look HERE for details.

Hope it helps
Eddy

Sorry, my bad, I completely forgot...basically you need to set the Web Skin setting to "web" only and leave the other two settings (PDA and TV) to their default, then untick "Enable web service registration", finally download the zip in attachment and expand the content into <DigiGuide TV Guide\schemes\server skins>.

What you finally have in that folder will be web/pda/tv DigiGuide scheme files plus the "DG2XML.dgscheme-web" folder containing three files.

Hope it helps

Cheers, yes working but I'm still not getting all the information from digiguide
For example, program below has series infor in Digiguide but not in xml output.

</programme>
<programme start="20140919150000 +0100" stop="20140919154500 +0100" channel="101">

Escape to the Country

<sub-title>Cumbria</sub-title>
<desc>Series in which buyers are helped to find their dream homes. Aled Jones heads to Cumbria to help a young family find a perfect retreat. With a budget of £600,000, they are after lots of character and space for a pony. Plus Aled goes wild in the local countryside as he partakes in a spot of bush craft.</desc>

<previously-shown/>
<subtitles type="teletext"></subtitles>
<star-rating>
<value>3/5</value>
</star-rating>
</programme>

I think this doesn't relate to the DG2XML, but to the XMLTV GUI which select the information to export to the XML, so it might be possible to modify the LUA parser in order to extract the information you need. Maybe you could contact the developer for help.

Cheers
Eddy

Smile

I have been playing with DG2XML files ( strings.dat ) file
Adding
<my-episode>Episode <di programme-episode-text></my-episode>
<my-series-number><di programme-SeriesNumber></my-series-number>

Gives the episode numbers consistently.
Series numbers only for certain programmes.
Note that there is more series information in the qualifiers field so
<my-qualifiers><di programme-qualifiers></my-qualifiers>
gives, for example,
<my-qualifiers>Stereo, Repeat, Series 15, Widescreen, Subtitles, 3 Star<my-qualifiers>

So just need to do a match to search for the text "Series" and strip it out.
