Cisco 4742 (or similar) HD Cable receivers & 1394 channel change
I'm currently using an older, Motorola 3200 HD receiver from Cox, hooked up to a HD-PVR and utilizing 1394 (Firewire) channel changes from SageTV.
Does anyone know if these new, Cisco HD receivers (models vary: 1642. 4642, 4742) are capable of receiving the channel change commands from Sage? They all have 1394 connections on their back-panels (albeit 4-pin small 1394 connectors), so I was hoping they would also be able to accept the channel change commands from Sage. Any Cox (or other) cable users who is using one of these new, Cisco boxes?

Or any Cisco/Scientific Atlantic HD cable box made in the last three/four years.
TimMoore's driver doesn't appear to function as it did with an eight year old Motorola 3200

OK, I've searched high and low and can't seem to find a package or drivers that the Cisco (Scientific Atlanta) Explorer 4742 HD cable box (from Cox Communications) will recognize for the purpose of 1394 Firewire channel change.
Every pack of drivers listed anywhere in the Timmmoore threads, etc, result in the statement: "Windows could not find driver software for your device" Anyone out there using this device, or a similar one? These are the newer set-top boxes which allow reception of higher frequency, SDV channels (1ghz tuner). It's been a while since anyone added drivers for any new devices (2011 I think)

The device ID is a unique hardware ID created by the manufacturer. It's basically a big string of letters & numbers. I would recommend looking in the INF file to see what one looks like. You should be able to get the device ID from the device manager and looking in the details under the properties for it.
