New Install has no metadata

I built a new server and did a fresh install of Sage and all plugins. I wanted to set up everything and then lastly, copy over wiz.bin.

After setting up everything (tuners, import directories, malore views, etc, etc.) I haven't copied over wizbin yet but I did a rescan and Phoenix downloaded all of the fanart, but I have no metadata. If I go into the BMT web interface and do a look up, the found metadata will save. BMT shows maybe 50 (out of 3000+) items in the "missing metadata" view, but Sage won't show any of the "non-missing". My Music menu also has no album covers, although every mp3 has a cover photo in its tag. I've been working on this for a while but can't find the issue. Help!

Strangely, I noticed the Sage interface and BMT interface for fanart specified different directories so I fixed that. I went back to music (even though Phoenix doesn't do music) and the screen populated with album covers. I did another rescan and now that is gone again.

Found the issue. Somewhere between then and now SAGE stopped seeing my network paths. It originally saw everything and accepted my server shares in directory import (ie: \\server\drive\dir). Now Sage will not see these directories.

If I try to modify or add them again, it says not found and do you want to add. the pc sees the server and the shares fine. I even used mapped drives on the Sage server and Sage will not show those drive letters. Everything show sin network, etc, etc on the SAge machine but Sage will not accept them. Firewall has all the exceptions and even turning it off has no effect. Sage sees, accesses and shows the stream from my ceton network tuner, just no import directories.

Is your Sage server logged on with local system or a USER?

Sage no longer recognizes network paths

I built a new W7 64bit server and did a fresh install of Sage. I planned to set it up and copy the previous wiz.bin when finished. I set up my plug ins and import directories and the imports came up in Sage. I added the network tuners and SAGEDCT and had tv streaming from the guide. Then I noticed there was no metadata on the imports (w BMT). Phoenix had d/l all the fanart but there was no metadata. I went to change something on the import directory set up and it told me the directory did not exist and asked to create it.

All import directories are "\\server\drive\share". Windows sees them, you can enter them on the run bar and they come up instantly. I then tried mapping the shares. Sage does not show the drive letters. All of this was fine. What could have happened?

The current WORKING server has the Sage Service running under a network common user who has admin rights. The service on the NEW server is set as local system.

When I initially started on the new server, I did not set Sage to use the service, but added it later. I'll change it and see what happens.

That was it! Thanks so much for your response. I was working at this in frustration and can't think how long it would have been before I thought of the service.

Do you have Sage Service running as a Local User or a Named User?
To see UNC paths, it must be a Named User and the User should have access to the UNC paths to work properly

It now runs as a named user who has admin rights and is up and running.
