Client on Win8: Video Playback Fails
I'm trying to use some client licenses I just purchased (thanx, Dirk!) on a Win8 system running the last SageTV client. Installation & setup went fine...until I got to testing video playback.
None of the "levels" (e.g., Basic, Medium, Standard) resulted in a video showing. This makes me think there's some feature missing from my Win8 installation, or some misconfigured system property. Or maybe Sage client just doesn't work on Win8. I can live with any of that; I'll just install Win7. But before I do that I wanted to see if wiser heads can help me get the client running on Win8. Thoughts?

Does Win8 come with decoders capable of playback without installing third party decoders?

Yes it does all you need is to set Detailed Setup Video/Audio to EVR and use the Microsoft Decoders
