HD 300 loses video sync

Recently I've experienced what I can only describe as my HD 300 losing video sync, that is, momentary loss of picture, either just a blue screen or total loss of picture. Most times it lasts just a few seconds and then the picture's fine. Other times it's permanent.

I have my HD 300 hooked up to my ONKYO receiver through HDMI 1.3 and connected to my server by a wired connection to a wireless D-Link bridge. I have eliminated the wireless bridge as a culprit as video plays fine when played by means of other media servers such as Serviio. BTW, my Onkyo receiver is hooked up to a flat screen Samgsung through HDMI.

I can temporarily solve the problem by a hard reboot of the HD 300; unplugging the power adapter and restarting after a few minutes. The HD 300 is then fine for a few hours but the problem resurfaces.

Could this be caused by a failing power supply? Anyone else experience this or have any suggestions? I am using the latest firmware and Sage v7 on a windows pc running XP. Thanks.

Are you on the latest HD300 beta firmware? When this started happening, was there something in particular that you changed with your setup around the same time? Are you running any custom plugins?

Perhaps try taking the receiver completely out of the mix and see if you can repeat the issue. Then I would try a new HDMI cable between the TV and the HD300. Then I would try a different HDMI port on that television.

If the problem still persists, I would then try the HD300 on another television. If the problem persists beyond that, I might consider a factory reset, or flash/re-flash the firmware.

Just trying to throw some ideas out there ...

Thanks for the trouble shooting suggestions. Turned out to be a bad HDMI cable from the HD300 to the receiver.
