SageTV Server Restore - Validate my process...

So, my WHS server's boot drive decided to poop the bed over the weekend, and I spent the past day or so retooling the machine under Windows 7 (with Drive Bender). All of my video data is still intact - the boot drive had some block failures, but I was able to recover my entire SageTV directory... including my wiz.bin.

Since I have all my video data, I'm collecting it all from the WHS pool locations to a Drive Bender based pool of data. The recorded TV section is the part which I am being most sensitive with.

I have yet to reinstall SageTV, so I'd like to understand the best way to proceed from here. My current plan is to....

-Collect all Recorded TV data into one single directory.
-Install and configure Sage and tuners, and point the recorded TV to that location.
-Shutdown Sage, and replace wiz.bin with my backup copy to "restore" the d/b entries for all my recorded TV.
-Enjoy a happy household once again.

Is this the proper method for handling a system restore with a legacy wiz.bin?
Any gotchas to look out for?

-Greg

(Wow - When WHS's boot drive fails... eyikes)

You should be good. That's what I did when I rebuilt my server. Works great.

Thanks for the insight... I'm still in the process of repopulating my data, but I should be installing Sage this afternoon and reconfiguring from there.

Cheers,
-Greg
