New server, help restore my WAF
After 5 years and with the release of the Colossus the upgrade bug bit and I decided it was time to upgrade to a new server from my faithful Dell WS360.
As you can imagine after 5 years we had the system running pretty smoothly. And its been so long since I've had to tinker that I can't remember some of the things I need to do to get some plugins working correctly. I use extenders and Clients to watch TV. First off, I've installed the comskip plugins, there are comskip processes running, and comskip files are being generated, but its like these files are not being seen by the extender (not sure about the PC clients). I seem to remember having this problem when I moved to v7, and I think I had to do something with UNC paths, but I can't find anything on the forums. can anyone point me in the right direction. And the only other big problem is BMT/Phoenix/Fanart. I've installed the BMT web interface plugin, and made a centralized fanart folder, but when I tell BMT to refresh fanart I get a bunch of "null" messages, and nothing is showing up in Sage. The Phoenix log says something (I think, don't have access to it right now) about a socket error connecting to the moviedb.org. I've searched but have not come up with anything helpful. Thanks in advance for the help. Food network and Discovery in HD have made the problems worth it to the wife...for now |

Read it carefully. I damaged some of my WAF just yesterday while trying to switch recording paths from local to UNC. The instructions are clear, just make sure you follow them. Also, speaking from experience, make sure you get a GOOD backup of your sage.properties and wiz.bin files prior to doing this. Open Task Manager and make sure that sagetvservice.exe is not running. I had a corrupt wiz.bin backup and I think it was because even though I shut the service down using Windows Services, the sagetvservice.exe was still running. Thankfully, I had a 2 week old wiz.bin backup and restored that fine. After following the directions to switch to UNC paths again, everything went smoothly. Good luck.
