Flow Filter - Archive Status

Is there a way to filter a flow based on archive status? Since there are multiple people in my house and we may watch a show at different times, this would work better for me than a filter based on watched status. Thanks.

As I don't use this I would need someone to let me know how Sage tells the difference or where this is used now in Sage so I can examine the code.

I don't know the exactly details but Archived is a logical flag in SageTV.

If you look at the standard SageTV views, the "Current Recordings" view lists TV shows that do not have the archived flag set (regardless of the status of the watched flag) and this is the type of view that I'm trying to create in Gemstone. The following is copied from the SageTV v7 user manual

If you have time and can implement this you may also want to include the appropriate flag for an archived recording which I've also copied from the manual.

I appreciate all the work you've done on Gemstone and if you don't have time or can't find the necessary information to implement this, that's fine. I'll just go back to using the standard SageTV view.

I know before I could implement Gemstone in prod, would need the Archive, Watched, FirstRun icons to show in the recordings/flows, Recording Schedule, Future Airings.

Would need to see the Don't Like in the Flows.

WAF requires those as she uses them quite a bit when setting/checking stuff.

Icons are on the feature request list, no ETA.

I am not sure if the Archived filtering is so one of you might want to add it to our issue log as a feature request if its not there.

Archived filtering is there it is under other views

When you go into your View and hit options. click on view.

Then scroll all the way down to the bottom you will see other views. Click on that then TV. You will see some filters ... Recorded TV. You will also see Rercorded TV (archived) etc...

I found what you're talking about. Unfortunately, it's a view, not a filter, and as such doesn't have the level of control needed to solve my problem. As a view I can either set it to either show all TV or only archieved TV. If archive were a filter option, then I could set the filter to either include or exclude and it is the exclude option that is currently missing from the view. Specifically, to replace the SageTV default I need to replace the "Current Recordings" TV menu. This menu shows all non-archived recordings regardless or watched status and I can't achieve this with the current options.

Create a new flow call it Archived recordings set the view to Recorded TV(archived). Add it to the menu ...Then you can filter any way you want it.

Got it. Thanks. I'll edit and enhance the view to suit my family's needs as soon as I get a chance.

Sure.
  • Select Option->Flow Manager->Add new flow
  • Name the flow
  • Select the type (Dual Flow in my case)
  • Create menu item for the new flow using menu manager [optionally, delete the old default SageTV menu item that you're replacing with this new menu]
  • Using normal SageTV menu system, select the flow that you just created
  • Select Option and then select "View: TV Shows" in the upper right section of the option menu.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the list and select "Other Views"
  • Make sure show advanced views is set to yes on the next menu screen and then select TV from the list of view tags.
  • Select "Recorded TV" [This is the view that lists recorded TV shows that do not have the archive flag set]
  • Select "info options" and adjust to taste.
  • Select "customize" and adjust to taste.
  • Return to main SageTV screen and enjoy your new view.
