2 requests?

Now that I got a client up, I cannot adequately express my enjoyment of Gemstone.

I was wondering if I could make a couple of requests. The recommendations widget is great. Is there a possibility to make it longer or, better yet, to make it into a full view? So its just a long list of every next episode, partially watched video and movie?

For my second request, I am using the Gemstone "gemfirstletter" group quite a bit. It works wonderfully but it has one little thing I wish I could change in a setting. It lists things like "The Amazing Race" under "T". I wonder if it would be possible to add an ignore-all type option to it? So that "The Amazing Race" would be found under "A"?

Ignore "articles" is what you're looking for. Best would be to pick up the SageTV preference for this, as it already exists.

This one I need to give more thought so open an issue on the issues site so I don't forget. This is really a vfs entry that returns the recently watched items and then for each item it does a function that returns the NEXT item... so need to figure how to make that an actual View.

This already exists.... see the options in the Group By setup where you picked First Letter and pick disregard 'a' etc.

Then set the second presentation level to show by title etc.

Just tried it and it works as intended.

Can I ask a follow up question? The recent movies widget, what VFS is that using? The default recent one doesn't give the same results. Thanks!

The widget is using "gemstone.widget.recentMovies" which is the same View as offered in the View options menu "Recent Movies".... so not sure what you mean by the results being different?

Nice, thanks! I see the mistake I was making now. I was grouping by title, which seems to throw it off.

Its actually best to use a base view if you want to build or adjust a presentation as the gemstone views each already have presentations included so adding one flattens the source view and you lose the original format anyway.

Have the widgets scroll or flip. Not sure it's possible but you could certainly fit more there if so.

They do scroll, set the live widgets option to on and you can have as many of them showing as you want.

Just to be clear, the widget itself is restricted to 12 (or is it 14?) entries, right? Regardless of "scrolling"? Or am I doing something wrong?

I need to ask jusjoken as there may be a hard limit to the number of items (10 I think not 12-14) in the number of items settings slider for widgets that list recent or upcoming items, but remember we consider them to be widgets (implies small and many etc...) not something that can list many many items that span the whole height of the widget panel or more. That being said, I cant see why we technically couldn't remove the limit of how many items can be listed inside a widget, other than it sort of goes against our original vision and could lead to some odd spacing results... We'll have to see what jusjoken thinks about it

Cool, thanks! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't making a dumb mistake. A longer widget would be totally cool as well but I would rather have a full view if at all possible.
