Dreaded -4,0x80040217 Error Code

I just installed a new XP MCE SP3 partition with Hauppauage HD-PVR, Arcsoft Total Media Extreme 2 and Sage 7. Total Media Extreme plays fine with the HD-PVR. However, when I start Sage 7 and go to live TV, I get the following error:

There was a playback error in playback. Details:
sage.PlaybackException: Error (-4,0x80040217):
There was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback.

When I go to Sage Detailed Settings, Video/Audio, I see that there are no valid H.264 decoder's listed; the only choice is "Default", despite having Arcsoft Total Media Extreme 2 and PowerDVD10 installed. When I expand the list to include ALL possible decoders, 1) Arcosft is not listed, 2) Cyberlink H.264 decoder is listed, but it doesn't work. I've tried all the Video Renderer settings (Video Overlay, DirectX9 VMR, EVR) and nothing seems to work.

Sage on my other XP partition and my Win7 partition are working OK.

Any ideas what could be going on? It seems to be a Codec recognition problem.

Well, I downloaded the Divx H.264 codec. Sage recognizes it as a valid H.264 codec and it works fine. So, I guess this is what i'm going with.
