HD Playback - Playing too fast, skipping ahead
I just rebuilt my HTPC (new motherboard, CPU), and am having issues playing ripped blueray videos. In my previous build, they played just fine (ripped with Any DVD to folder structure).
Old CPU was an i5 Clarkdale with onboard graphics. New CPU is an i7 Sandy Bridge and HD3000 graphics so GPU capability shouldn't be a problem. When I start a video, it plays fast (about 5 seconds of video for every 1 second of real time). Non-HD videos (ripped from DVD) play just fine and HD files recorded from TV (transport steam) play fine as well. Here's the playback and decoder settings from the Sage.properties file: videoframe/h264_video_decoder_filter=Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder videoframe/last_cc_state=2 videoframe/last_dshow_volume=1.0 videoframe/last_station_id=11208 videoframe/local_encoding_to_playback_delay=0 videoframe/max_strength_for_live_signal_loss=30 videoframe/mjpeg_video_decoder_filter= videoframe/mp3_audio_decoder_filter= videoframe/mpeg4-video_video_decoder_filter= videoframe/mute_line_in_on_startup=false videoframe/mute_on_alt_speed_play=true videoframe/pc_code= videoframe/pcm_bd_audio_decoder_filter= videoframe/play_seam_advance=250 videoframe/ps_hw_decoder_filter= videoframe/require_compatible_decoder_for_dscaler=true videoframe/rethread=true videoframe/rew_time=-7000 videoframe/rew_time2=-150000 videoframe/safe_fast_file_switching=true videoframe/segment_min_backup=5000 videoframe/skip_dvd_menus=false videoframe/start_playlist_items_from_beginning=true videoframe/time_behind_live_to_disable_skip_forward=4000 videoframe/time_to_start_into_tv_file_playback=0 videoframe/time_wait_for_signal_loss=7500 videoframe/use_dscaler=true videoframe/vc1_video_decoder_filter=ffdshow Video Decoder videoframe/video_bg_color=0,0,0 videoframe/video_decoder_filter=Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder videoframe/video_decoder_filter_alt= videoframe/video_horizontal_shift_freq=0 videoframe/video_postprocessing_filter= videoframe/video_render_filter=EVR |

Well, I have the older version of the Intel HD graphics and I've used the MS decoders with much success. Sometimes it will act "funny" though. I've started using the TMT5 decoder because it is more consistent as far as not having any issues. What I would do if I were you is download the LAV filters that support quicksync and see if that solves your problem. It will at least tell you if it is a decoder issue or not.

i have the quicksync supported decoders in the latest version of FFDshow, so i'm not sure its a decoder issue. I had everything working "perfectly" in my clarkdale setup. I thought i had all of my settings backed up or written down, but i've obviously missed something.
I saved the entire sagetv folder from my old windows setup, so i have everything in there, but i'm thinking it might not be a sage configuration. FFDshow maybe? Any other ideas? Most of my setup was using this guide http://www.missingremote.com/guide/i...ng-sagetv-v7-0 |
