SageTV.exe: "Your system clock appears to have been changed...

possibly in an attemtp to defeat the security system on this program. Please correct your system clock before trying to run this program again. If your clock is already correct, rebooting the system may fix this problem, otherwise contact the author of this program for instructions (report code CCB-A)

I just did a fresh install of W7 on a new Crucial M4 SSD (did the firmware update on it.) and I keep getting this message when I try to start SageTV.

I have the latest Java installed as well. Update 31. Any thoughts?

And Yes I tried rebooting the PC.

EDIT: Found this thread.

Well, the instructions in that thread didn't work either. I get the same message. Any suggestions?

As suggested in the thread you pointed to I would contact SageTV here and see what they can do for you if noboby else has a solution for you.

I have the same issue. Can you share the fix or do I have to contact them?

My copy of SageTV just all of a sudden started giving me the "Your system clock appears to have changed" message. I have had SageTV on this machine for about 2 years. I filled out and submitted the support form mentioned in this thread but I have not seen a response. It has been about a week. Is the support crew still at Burning Man?

System Clock Error Message - SageTV won't start

I turned on my computer the other day and get the following message when SageTV tries to start...

"Your system clock appears to have been set back, possibly in an attempt to defeat the security system on this program. Please correct your system clock before trying to run this program again. If your clock is already correct, rebooting the system may fix this problem, otherwise contact the author of this program for instructions"

I tried rebooting but still get the same message.
I tried the sagetv REGISTER command but still get the same message

I tried submitting a support form on 9-6-2012 but have not received a reply.

Is there something else to try?

Here is someone's solution for the same error message with a different java app:
Quote:
1. Uninstall the app and install it again to have a fresh copy. (Note: Don’t open the application yet).
2. Turn off computer and remove the battery of my computer. The battery is used to make your system clock up to date.
3. Turn on the computer without the battery and set the CMOS time manually to current date and time and saved it.
4. On the desktop change the CLOCK in the TASKBAR and set it to current date and time.
5. Open the application and it runs perfectly.
Not sure this would work for you but it is something to try while you are waiting for SageTV to get back to you.

I've also seen suggestions that say to adjust your clock forward a ways reboot then back to the correct time again which would be a simpler change.

Support has no record of your support request. I suggest that you resubmit using the form linked in my sig lines or near the top of the list of forums.

Sage TV Errors

My SageTV 6.0 stopped working and complained about missing files msvcr100.dll and jvm.dll. I copied these files over from another windows 7 machine but it still did not work. I then tried to do a 7.0 upgrade and get the following "Your system clock appears to have been set back, possibly in an attempt to defeat the security system on this program. Please correct your system clock before trying to run this program again. If your clock is correct, please contact the author of this program for instructions on correcting this error (report code 4008,11239,5013). " Now what can I do. I had purchased client and server licenses for two machines as well as Sage Hardware boxes for two of my TV's. Only the one PC is working and I am trying to get the other one working. Any help would be appreciated.

...
The missing files are a win7 rather than Sagetv problem!!! @#$@#$@#$

Something in one of the latest Windows updates hoses a bunch of DLLs and (as far as I can find) there is just no fixing it short of reinstalling windows. At this point, I've rolled back to a better state (although those are still gone!), and I just don't do windows updates anymore.

Hopefully it works better for other people, but I've tried this fix, and get a message that I can't install, because of some version conflict.

I just ran into this problem a moment ago. I put a new NIC in my system and at that time decided to remove a couple of old Hauppauge cards I had in the system.

After doing this I got the message. It seems the common solution was to contact Sage support and get some magic code to fix this. With Sage support no more, anyone know how I can get this problem solved?

BTW, I'm running the latest Sage 7 with v6 key and the special exe's to get v7 working.

Thanks!

-Gary

Sage support still exists. It may take longer to get a response but they still respond. So get the magic code from them you still should be able to do that.
