Why no tuner 0 on HDHomeRunPrime?
I created the QAM files myself (with a bit of help from tmiranda and jbuszkie, because the setup for the Prime doesn't do that yet (until next beta release). Everything works fine for tuners 1 and 2, but SageTV doesn't identify tune 0. Any ideas about why that might be? Tuner 0 plays fine on QuickTV, and I've saved the scn file for it in the same format as for 1 and 2 but Sage doesn't see it. (I realize I'm getting a bit greedy demanding all three tuners, but it's basketball season.)

Really, no ideas?

Are you sure those are really 3 independent tuners? Are you able to have SageTV record on tuner 1 and 2, while simultaneously having QuickTV display something else on tuner 0?

Yes, the Prime has 3 separate tuners.
Sorry, I have no clue why the first one doesn't work

Perhaps it's another beta issue, to be cleared up in the next release? However, I also have a Hauppauge 2250 which is listing two tuners "WinTV-7164 Analog Capture" and "WinTV-7164 Analog Capture #2" . The numbering always seemed a bit strange to me since there is no "#1," but at least it lists both tuners that are available. I can't think of anything to try with the HomeRun Prime though. There should definitely be three listed and I have three scn files numbered "0-0" "0-1" and "0-2". I've tried deleting the number part of the file name for the 0 tuner, but that did nothing.

I've got a 2250 as well as an HDHR and a Prime. My 2250 also is numbered like yours and tuner 0 works fine on the Prime.

What are the tuner 0 scn and frq files labeled?

Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 131276A4-0-0-QAM.frq and Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner 131276A4-0-0-QAM.scn
Obviously the MAC address of yours will be different.

My Prime is connected via a 300Mbps wireless network. I wonder if there's some sort of constraint that tests whether the connection has the capacity to service 3 tuners? Doesn't seem very likely, but it's very strange that tuner 0 is excluded. I originally had two tuners disabled, and then I enabled only two for awhile. I've long since enabled all three, but perhaps this is some sort of artifact of that prior disabled status? |

Make sure it isn't listed on the mmc/ignore_encoders properties line in Sage.properties.

Ignore that. The core keeps track of the last encoder that was in use for internal reasons.
Andy, correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Interesting. SageDCT recognizes all three tuners. I don't have a cable card yet, but I suppose that getting one would fix things. Still, it's kind of odd. Some parameter has been set somewhere to ignore tuner 0 for QAM.

By the way, just for the heck of it I went ahead and launched Windows Media Center and it has the same issue. It can see tuners 1 and 2 but no 0, even though the setup program sees all three and all three play on QuickTV. Maybe someone in the FEC has decided that we don't need more than 2 QAM tuners?

I am using the Prime unit and I can see all three tuners. I am using SageDCT to get all the channels and it works fine.
It sounds like you have a defective Prime unit. I would call Silicon Dust.

No such luck. I'm hoping to get a cable card within a few days so can check to see whether all three are working in cable card mode. It may be that only two tuners are allowed for QAM in SageTV and WMC. Can't think of any other reason that it wouldn't allow tuner 0. BTW, WMC does indicate that it sees three tuners, but only two are tunable in QAM mode. It occurred to me that tuner 0 wasn't set up to allow QAM mode, but it works fine in QuickTV. I'll check to see whether it works in VLC.

that is the same tuner you disbled earlier, correct? I would guess it is a problem from trying to reenable it. If all 3 work on quickTV I think it is unlikely a hardware problem...
