Comskip in UK?

Hi all,

Having now installed SJQ, i'm looking at finally setting up comskip and just wondered what people are using in the UK for recording analysis. The SJQ walkthrough uses ShowAnalyzer. Does anybody have any bad experiences with using this in the UK? or any other preferences?

for the record, i am running STV on a WHS, mostly using HD200's for playback

one other thing to note, is that i am currently only recording SD; but am following the freesat threads in the UK forum with interest! ;-)

Cheers

mevans

I've tried both comskip and show analyser in the past on SD channels and didn't get any reliable results at all.

The TV companies seem to do whatever they can to make it as hard as possible.

In the end I gave up and changed the forward skip buttons to 2 mins and 10 seconds respectively. When the adverts come on its usually something between 2 and 4 clicks on the remote.

Snap! I had exactly he same problems with showanalyser and came up with the same solution! Though I have the rewind go back 1/3 of the forwards time.

i currently do the same - except about 2/3 (so not the same - but similar!).

Maybe it is more successful in the US.

i don't think i'll bother trying to set this up anymore then. i think i'll move straight on the the 2nd task i had on the list for SQJ... moving recordings tagged as archived...

Thanks again!
