Comskip in MCE?
Can someone elaborate on this for me? I don't have MCE. But this intrigued me when I saw it in a flash advertisement on Tom's HW.

I'm guessing it will automatically skip a 30 second commercial when you press skip.

it's a bit more clever than that and actually quite interesting how they intend to implement it.
htpcnews.com had an article on it a while back and it actually processes the commercials into individual thumbnail blocks. you can skip them all or view commercials individually. mce will basically be making chapters out of recordings since the technology used for the comm skip in mce will not be limited to the commercials. for info mce comm skip |

that seems pretty cool, but it also seems like something that will go over the head of some people too. ah, if only I could program...

Very interesting, I really like that idea, although how well it would work for skipping commercials remains to be seen. Of course I think it would be cool to see it in Sage.
On a tangent, could they have made that video any more dull? |
