Anyway to get sage to send the Enter Key once an hour

My IPTV boxes go into Standby mode every two hours if no keys are pressed. Currently no way to disable this feature, as they are trying to save bandwidth. So I need a way to press the 'Select' key for each box once an hour.

I researched this same issue. It can be done with a SageTV plugin, but to my knowledge one does not exist.

Eventghost might work for you.

If this is a Windows-based system then you can use the AT command. You can set a task that sends a keystroke to whatever app you specify.

There was an STB Keepalive plugin/program floating around here at one time.

What about setting up a batch script that would send the key to the box via your IR repeater or Firewire connection?

You can set the batch script to run every hour.

Exactly - send a batch script. If you have a USB-UIRT then they have a tool to allow you to send commands from a command line and if you use Firewire then there is the channelw.exe command which should also work.

I have the same problem and i tried to use the STB Keepalive but i never managed to make it send signal to the STB, i'm using WHS v1. what i did was to setup Sage to record How its Made, spongebob and other programs that have hundreds of shows, big mistake, now i'm getting no more shows to schedule and have a big load of MB used . If you have more luck please post what you did to keep your STB alive.
