Setting up Phoenix on SageTV Client
I've been using SageTV for 2 years in a client-server configuration.
I always used SageMC, but never did setup fanarts and stuff like that. Now with version 7, I started having issues with SageMC, so I installed Phoenix on my client - my server is headless. Since this UI relies even more heavily on fanarts, I'd like to set up fanarts, but I am confused on how to do this on a client-server configuration. It seems I need to install BMT, but should I install it on client or server ? All the guides I am reading doesn't mention where I should install the components - client or server . Can anybody help me ? |

After carefully looking again at the MBT guide, it does say it must be installed on the server.
I am now wondering how Phoenix, installed on the client, will pick up the fanart retrieved by MBT on the server. |

Then install install Phoenix on the client, and check to the central fanart folder location to make sure it's pointing to the same location on the server. And then rescale fanart from the client which will scale the fanart for your client and also cache it locally as well for performance.

Is it required to install BMT to get meta data in Phoenix? I thought Phoenix would natively call the Phoenix APIs...

BMT is simply a web front end to the Phoenix APIs, so no it's not required. But, i'd recommend installing it, since you'll be able to configure many aspects of Phoenix using the bmt web ui as well, including views and menus, etc.
