Unhappy Comskip issues after installing v7.1.9.256

As the title states after updating to the above version, comskip ceases to work properly.

Any attempt to fast foraward or backwards or skip ahead or back disables comskip. I have to manually open the menu then re-enable it.

Pausing video does not affect this.

Any one have a fix for this?

To to verify that you are not crazy, I am having a ton of issue also with the new version. Mine keeps crashing in the middle of the night when my comskip files try to run.

Comskip is not working for me also it skips sometimes and sometimes it doesn't. I just use the left right to manually skip. I believe that John is aware of it.

I have to think that if this were a huge issue there would be more people. However, I have yet to install 7.1.9 so it may break for me when I do (not that I need to since my setup is rock solid). I may try tonight and report back.

I am working on it, but it's proving a little problematical.

Let me put it this way. Ver 7.15 runs fine. I upgrade to 7.19 and get a ton of problems. I put back 7.15 and everything is fine. I put back 7.19 and things go crazy. I put back 7.15 and everything is fine. so I would have to say YES it is broke. for me at least.

I dont think you are crazy.... I went from 7.15 and 7.19 and seem to have lots of problems also..

* Comskip on at least of my TVs just plays through the skip points. It shows them but does not seem to care.
* a decent of amount of extender lock ups. I keep my extenders in the closet so I have a script to reboot them. I had not had to use them on 7.15 at all.
* sage once ran out of memory on 7.19

I am thinking about rolling back to 7.15 tonight..

I think there's at least a couple of differnt things that people are lumping in together here.

The problem with autoskip not working again once it has been temporarily disabled, I'm looking at.

lotusvball's problem of comskip crashing is something completely different.

I feel a bit better knowing I'm not alone.

So far its been mostly com skip, but 7.1.9 has also reased all my remote control settings as well as shut off SageTv and not allow it to restart.

So far (Last 3 days) its been only the comskip. I can live with this as long as I know someone is working on it.

I hope the powers that be are looking at 7.1.9 and making changes! (I assume the auther of comskip is doing his part,

I've only been half watching this thread because I thought the issue had to do with the comskip playback STVi. Is CommercialDetector crashing or is comskip.exe crashing?

I have been having the issue of inconsistent automatic skipping. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I updated several things at once (stupid I know) so I wast sure what the culprit was, but I am on 7.1.9.256 as well.

V 7.1.8

I've been watching this thread as I've been having auto skipping problems.

Sometimes it misses the skip, but shows the timeline marked. I believe this started with the latest comskip plugin that added the delay time feature.

I haven't gone to 7.1.9 yet. I use Dirmon2 to run comskip and that's fine. I just use the basic comskip plugin for edl files. ...I don't use the Commercial detector plugin that comes with a basic comskip file... I'm using the donator's version of comskip.

Mostly though it works. I haven't noticed any crashes of the client or major slowdown or spinning circles of death.

No issues here with comskip (donators) and the commercial detection plugin on 7.1.9, no extender issues either... Planned on doing a clean install to clean up my BMT setup, you guys are making me nervous...

Same here. Been on 7.1.9 since it came out and using the latest comskip stvi plugin (2.06 I think.) No issues skipping and certainly no issues like some have been describing. Keep in mind there were major issues and changes between beta 7.13/7.14 and 7.15. You may want to make sure you get to 7.19 with no issues and then reinstall comskip plugin.

I've uploaded a new version of the Comskip Playback plugin (2.0.7), which fixes (at least for me) the problem with autoskip not working after it's been temporarily disabled.

I've been up for a loooong time, so my eyes are probably shot. I just installed 2.07 and I thought previous versions allowed you to set the amount of time auto skip would be disabled when going backwards (like when CS starts the skip block too early and there is still some show left to watch in that segment). I'm not seeing it in the options...or was that never an option?
