UI hangs on "UPDATING" at bottom

Pretty much says it; when I start Sage on my server, I can select Current Recordings and see the recordings listed (although some recent ones seem to be missisng), but when I select the Program Guide or Recording Schedule I see the spinning circle and the word 'UPDATING" at the bottom of the screen where the disk size info used to be (I am using the Malore menus). I left it there overnight and it was still there the next day. When it happens, I have to 'End Process Tree' in Windows Task Manager to restart the UI.

I can access all of the recording directories using Windows, so I don't think I have a hard drive problem.

Suggestions where to start?

Remove all plugins and see if the problem persists. If it does there is a problem with the malore menus, if it goes away add in plugins until you find the offender.

OK; now I'm hung on 'SageTV Service is Initializing'. I disabled all the plugins I could (some wouldn't let me because they're dependent on other ones).

Should I just uninstall and re-install Sage?

I would still try to remove all of the plugins. If you can't uninstall one because it's needed by another, uninstall the other one first. Keep going until you get them all uninstalled.

Shameless plug: You can install my "Remove Plugin and Dependencies" plugin which will make it a lot easier. I'd start uninstaling the UI Mod plugins first, then the General plugins.

Thanks for the tips and recommendation. Since I'm now hung on 'initializing', I've decided to install the new V7 beta.

I'll use your plugin the next time. That is, if I decide to use any plugins at all after this. If I do, it would be great if there were a troubleshooting plugin or app that removed all plugins, remembered which ones were removed, and let you selectively re-install them one at a time.

I'm hoping that Sage will turn out to be a reliable method for recording my Comcast service, especially HD, having just moved from Dish and ReplayTV SD for the majority of recording (I have been using Sage for OTA HD for a year or so now, and had been using it for Genpix/DN recording a few years back when that was an option.)

It has not been satisfactory so far, having missed recordings due to recording priority logic that has somewhat of a learning curve, and now this issue.

Hope I don't need to go to a Comcast HD recorder; I'm too spoiled by ReplayTV commercial skip and Sage Comskip. Poopli for Sage would be nice, too.
